So if it's true that they changed the word bread to the word food then why at 1 Kings 13:15-19 the word is still bread and not the new word, food? When Jesus said man must live not on bread alone,(Matt 4:4) he was quoteing from the Torah.(Deut 8:3) I just noticed it on your pic that you sent. Bread is bread. It's the same in all three scriptures yet they focused on the one in Matt 4:4 to change its word to food. Makes me wonder what their new agenda will be with this certain scripture and its new word, food.

Not only is this bible the new light but with less scriptures it's also lighter. They might have to give a new meaning to the word light

Start with the english speaking ones(where the most money is) and then next year they'll go to another country that has the most money and print the bible in their language and so on. When I inquired three years ago why they didn't have a bible in Hmong, I was told there weren't enough people which meant there wasn't enough money to print it in their language. It wasn't worth their while, Gods honest truth!

Curious as to what Acts 18:21 says in the new bible if you have time.

A Taste Of Their Own Exclusion Medicine
by metatron inah, the pleasures of shunning and exclusion!
the thrilling self-delusion that god loves you but really hates others.. except....... that it cuts both ways.. witnesses get to exclude people thru df'ing and general shunning (oh, what fun!
) but must also exclude themselves from halloween festivities, thanksgiving dinners, some weddings, christenings, christmas celebrations and , of course, birthdays.. "what's that, grandma?

What am I going to wear to the AGM?
by sherrie11 inthis is what some spiritual women in the troof and that have been honoured with an invitation to the historic agm will be thinking.. i am going to admit one of the reasons i enjoyed the meetings was getting to dress up.
how many women out there found the meetings an excuse to dress up.
how often did you shop or co ordinate outfits so you looked great every meeting.. .

Had a poor lonely young woman walk off the streets on memorial evening and wanted to start a study so I did. During the memorial she told me there's just no way she could afford to look like some of these bobbleheads. Shortly after she was gone. She was too intimidated just by outward appearances alone. What was really sad was you couldn't get an educated conversation out of some of these sisters. And they were always the first not to be seen with the poor. They only hung around with those that had the same outward appearances. I don't even know how some could have afforded their outfits.

Jesus Christ is King even before 1914 so Why the Need to...
by ProfCNJ ingood morning folks!
i have believed in the 1914 jw core teaching for more than 20 years.
but now, after seeing much about this date, i find it uncomfortable and odd to believe it unquestionably, much less defend it against opposing thoughts.

This one is for sure a keeper! Society would definetly call you a critical thinker and that you shouldn't be so dogmatic. At least that's what they told me when I would pick out scriptures that they couldn't answer. That's what I love about this site, it makes you dig and think. Thanks

WOW! This is what I'm saying, we need you guys to hang in there and stay on this site. Much, much appreciated. Love to read up on the history. When I joined here, there were so many smart folks that seem to have faded from here and it's ashame. For new ones it's like we've faded twice. First, getting away from a world of make believe(the org) and then suddenly the people we had learned the truth about the truth from are fading.
I know it's our turn to help others see it for the older ones have moved on or just tired out but it feels more like family when one of our "old relatives" (no pun intended) write to us on here. Nice to meet you and hope to hear more from you, Belbab

LOL! Just finished reading your other post as well. Why weren't you at my jc meeting???? You would have loved it. Me too! I had a huge circle of chairs ( nine chairs to be exact but only up to two accusers at a time to state their lies) around a table at the back of the hall when I walked in. They were so spread out with the three goons in front of us that they were trying to intimidate me right off the bat. But the pharisees didn't scare me for I actually asked them if we could all sit a little closer to one another( so my tape recorder could pick up every word they were saying). And they did-idiots!
Ummm,,, I didn't see Elijah at my jc. I wonder if he was under the table. I was working my way to being under the table from sipping blueberry vodka for six hours that evening(that's how long my jc meeting took).
